KOMATSU PC210LC Excavator
This Komatsu works in a harsh demolition environment and uses various hydraulic attachments including hammer and shear applications
This machine had been having hydraulic oil contamination problems for some time and the solenoid valves kept sticking resulting in no hydraulic movement during initial start up. The contamination was eventually sourced to the dipper ram; internal wear in the cylinder was continually contaminating the hydraulic system. The ram was replaced and FA-ST carried out a 6 hour system filtration using the KLEENOIL MS2 Filter rig and also installed a KLEENOIL 9778H by pass filtration unit.
The initial oil sample results showed an ISO of 21/19 and after 6 hours of filtration this was reduced to ISO 17/14. Oil sampling and monitoring has been introduced using the FA-ST Oilcheckuk condition monitoring programme.
As with all KLEENOIL by pass filtration systems, the units are fitted for ease of filter cartridge changes. A pressure line feed sourced from the quick hitch line and a return line from the KLEENOIL unit to the oil cooling system maintains a continuous filtration at all times that the machine is running.
The company, Armac Demolition Ltd of Birmingham www.armacdel.co.uk have subsequently installed KLEENOIL filtration units to 5 more machines including Caterpillar and Hitachi and are looking to continue an installation programme on further machines during 2005. |
